Columbus Craft Beer Week Pairings

For this year’s Columbus Craft Beer Week we’ve decided to focus on what we are truly passionate about - the pairing of food & beer!

The Executive Chef from each of our locations has used our menu to curate a 3-course menu w/ a pairing recommendation.

Order all 3 of Chef’s recommended pairings and receive $5 off! Choose recommended styles from the bottle list or any size draft including ½ pours.

Dublin

First Course
Chicken Tortilla Soup
Recommended Pairing Style: Lager
The light, crisp qualities of Lagers will balance the bold spice & heat in our Chicken Tortilla Soup. Pairing a Lager with the roasted tomato base of the soup will be a welcome & refreshing choice.

Second Course
Scallop Scampi
Recommended Pairing Style: IPA
Hops are a great palate cleanser, especially when paired rich dishes, and hops are the highlight of the IPA style. The bitter hops in an IPA paired with the Scallop Scampi will be a perfect contrast to cut through the richness of the scallops & the delicious butter sauce in the orzo.

Third Course
Molten Chocolate Pudding Cake
Recommended Pairing Style: Scotch Ale
Scotch Ales are known for their rich caramel and boozy malt-forward qualities. Pairing a Scotch Ale, like the Zaftig / OYO / 101 Wee Heavy collaboration, with our Molten Chocolate Cake will complement their similar flavor profiles and accentuate the rich chocolate with caramel and warming alcohol.

Gahanna

First Course
Jalapeño Poppers
Recommended Pairing Style: IPA
Hops are a great palate cleanser, especially when paired with rich dishes, and hops are the highlight of the IPA style. The bitter hops in an IPA paired with the Jalapeño Poppers will be a perfect contrast to cut through the richness of the cream cheese & spice of the peppers.

Second Course
Blackened Redfish
Recommended Pairing Style: Wheat/Hefeweizen
Wheat beers are light and creamy and often pair well with many seafood dishes. Our Blackened Redfish entrée is no exception with the delicate whitefish and creamy remoulade to complement.

Third Course
|
Molten Chocolate Pudding Cake
Recommended Pairing Style: Stout
We cannot think of a better way to end a meal than with flavors of coffee and chocolate which, is exactly what this pairing offers. A medium to full-bodied stout with coffee, chocolate, & molasses undertones will accentuate the sweet & creamy chocolate in our decadent Molten Chocolate Pudding Cake & send you off with sweet things to dream about….

Westerville

First Course
Housemade Soft Pretzels
Recommended Style Pairing: Lager/Pilsner
The crisp, light quality of both Lagers & Pilsners is a perfect contrast to the rye flour used in our Housemade Soft Pretzels. In addition, the lack of hops (or minimal usage) gives these styles a malty, bready quality that complements this guest favorite appetizer.

Second Course
Tuna & Avocado Toast
Recommended Style Pairing: Witbier/Hefeweizen
Wheat beers are light and creamy, often pairing well with many seafood dishes. Our Tuna & Avocado Toast is no exception. The chilled creole tuna is served rare with creamy avocado that both accentuates and contrasts with this refreshing style making a very happy pairing indeed.

Third Course
Macchiato Pot de Crème
Recommended Style Pairing: Scotch Ale
Scotch Ales are known for their rich caramel and boozy malt-forward qualities.
Pairing a Scotch Ale, like the Zaftig / OYO / 101 Wee Heavy collaboration, with our Macchiato Pot de Crème will complement the coffee and caramel and accentuate with warming alcohol.
